Silloth is a small seaside town on the Solway Firth; a small town with a very big heart. Silloth has been known since Victorian times for the quality of its air, the abundance of rare wildlife and its spectacular sunsets.

There is a small working harbour and a fishing fleet specialising in Solway Brown Shrimps, a delicacy celebrated far and wide. Silloth has a three-mile long terrace promenade and 45 acre town green. Parking is plentiful and free. There are a number of caravan sites and lively leisure parks packed with entertainment and activities in and around the town. The population of some 4000 people triple is in summer with visitors from the UK and overseas.

With its lively programme of events and activities, one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in the country and its numerous sites of special scientific interest, Silloth really does offer something for everyone.

Silloth is an events resort. You will see it at its busiest, liveliest and most vibrant when local events are taking place. Carnival, kite festival, beer festival, half marathon and craft fairs all produce a bustling and busy seaside resort with lots to do for adults and families. If you time your visit to coincide with any of these events you will find a lively and vibrant town that knows how to enjoy itself.

Outside of planned events, Silloth is an excellent base to explore Cumbria, the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall and the Solway coast.
